Under Pennsylvania Law, a Defendant in a personal injury case, usually defended by an insurance company, can request a medical exam be done of the person claiming the injury. Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure 4010 permits the medical exam if there is good cause. Typically, a Court will find there is good cause when the person bringing the case has alleged medical injuries.
